it's PANCAKE day

my friend simon educated me on today's holiday - PANCAKE DAY!  it's actually "Shrove Tuesday", the day before Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of lent.  i understand that traditionally, here in the U.K., on shrove tuesday, you made pancakes to eat (both sweet and savory - breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner) out of all the things left in your pantry (flour, sugar, butter) that would be given up for lent the next day.

now it's just a really fun holiday where everyone goes out to find the best-est and fun-est pancakes they can to eat.  well.  i have my project for the day!
